Atlanta East Flight School: Discover Flight Program
A tlanta East Flight School is a FAA Part 61 flight training program designed for the busy individual.  Whether you prefer a structured program with a set schedule, or the flexibility of a program around your busy schedule, Atlanta East will design a program for you to achieve your flying goal.

AIRFlight has several programs from which to choose.  We hope that you will find one that is just right for you.  Let Atlanta East Flight School be your first step to DISCOVER FLIGHT.

The Discover Flight Program

Discover Flight is a nationwide program to introduce flying to those who have never known the exillaration of flying.  For just $49, you will enjoy the experience of going up in an AIRFlight Academy aircraft with one of our Atlanta East Certified Flight Instructors (CFI).  Your CFI will teach you the basics of flight by letting you fly the airplane.  You will experience all phases of any normal flight.  With the guidance of your CFI, you will do a walk-around inspection, cockpit check, taxi, takeoff, climb, cruise, descent, approach and land the aircraft.  Your Discover Flight will then become your first flying lesson.  You will actually be able to log your session in your new pilot's logbook.  We hope that your Discover Flight will be the first of many enjoyable flying experiences with Atlanta East Flight School.

Discover Flight: Your Solo Flight

-
During your first few hours of dual instruction, you will combine ground and flight training to learn the basics of flight.  Your time will be divided between "basic airwork" (straight and level flight, turns, climbs, descents, just simply getting comfortable with your airplane and learning what it will do) and "airport pattern work" (entering the airport traffic pattern, flying the pattern, setting up for approaches to land, and of course, takeoffs and landings). From your first flight until your solo flight generally takes about 10 hours depending on how often you fly and your progress.  Keep in mind that each student is different and learns to fly at different pace and that persistance and dedication are far more important than speed.  Keep in mind that every hour flown is credit toward your next flight training goal.  Your flight time in preparation for your solo is also credit toward your Private Pilot License, your Private Pilot time is credit toward your Instrument Rating and Commercial Rating, etc.
